NATIONAL COMPETITION "YOUNG CLASSICAL MUSICIAN"

April 15, 2022

Violinist Aisha Corona Aguilar won the Grand Prize and the Special Audience Prize at the National Young Classical Musician Competition.

Launched in 2019, this national "Young Classical Musician" competition is open to young Mexican musicians aged 15 to 25 and is one of the most prestigious competitions in Mexico. Violinist Aisha Corona Aguilar, a Concert Master student in Virginie Robillard's class, won the Grand Prize and the Special Public Prize in February 2022.

Aisha is delighted to have obtained these prizes: "Winning the Grand Prix was a great result of my preparation for this competition, but receiving the public prize filled me with joy, because for me the most important thing is to create a connection with the people who listen to me. I was there to share my passion for what I do and knowing that people like it is very rewarding”.

The HEMU played a big role in obtaining these awards. “It was very important to prepare for the HEMU with my wonderful teacher Virginie Robilliard and my fantastic pianist Lisa Touliankina. I have grown a lot musically since the beginning of my studies here and it was a definitive step towards obtaining the first prize”, recognizes the violinist.

The money earned thanks to these prizes will allow her to carry out several projects: “This scholarship will help me financially when I need it to take music lessons and competitions or even to maintain my own instrument. Finally, what I remember the most from the competition is the experience, and a lot of motivation after the result”.

The HEMU congratulates her and wishes her the best in the rest of her professional career.
